Bird ID please.

This bird on a telegraph wire drew my attention as it was very still, quiet, and alone. I think I know what it is, but would welcome the opinions of you good folks please.

Not good pics, quite distant, was little more than a silhouette to the naked eye.

I agree 100% on a Goldfinch - Carduelis carduelis nice birds I have quite a flock of them at my feeders

Thank you everyone, I'll go with Goldfinch then.

I did think it may be, but I had not seen just one on its own before, is this usual? And for it to be still for so long? (At least 3 minutes - I had time to walk indoors, get the camera, return and take several pics, and it was still sitting there!)
