Your question may produce answers that you don't wish to hear as Cats are not that wildlife friendly.
The only way you can protect any birds from your cats is by keeping your cats indoors. |

Cats versus wildlife is a very emotive subject here, so please do not be offended if your first post generates a lot of heated replies.
As mentioned, cats and nesting birds do not mix. Keeping cat in as much as possible is the only answer.

Agree with the above. If possible, keep your cats indoors as much as you can during the day time.
If you don't feel that's possible, an alternative would be to attach a tether to it's collar to allow at least some freedom - while ensuring he/she can't get anywhere near the nesting birds.
