I don't think the chicks will live long without being fed though.
Nature can be so stressful at times. I have had a couple of wood pidgeons nesting in one of my tree's. I've just come back after 3 days away and found a dead chick on the path near the nest mostly eaten so can only guess the sparrow hawk got him before he managed to leave the nest. Very upset and annoyed over that as I love watching the young woody's in the garden. |
