| | | Red breasted flycatcher Hi,
We are novices but we are sure we had a red breasted flycatcher in our garden today, (24th. April). From books and the forum we note that they are not common in the UK. We live in Cwmbran, near Newport, South East Wales. Has anyone else seen these birds in this locality.?

| | Re: Red breasted flycatcher Welcome to the forum. As you have found out this is a scarce migrant to the UK + most records occur in the autumn, though some birds turn up in the spring.
I haven't heard of any turning up yet this year, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of this being one. I don't suppose you were able to take any photos? It would certainly be an excellent record if it was one- hopefully you might see it again. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
