| | | A ducks nest OK, I've had alsorts of birds build a nest in my garden - but never a duck!!!! Of all the places to build a nest it's decided to lay 8 or so eggs just beneath a window in the front garden which is fine but we're a bit of a distance from any rivers or ponds - if they hatch the chicks are not just going to have a fair walk on their hands, or feet as the case maybe, but a pretty dangerous one too - the nearest river's about a mile away with a housing estate, a road, another housing estate, a dual carriage way and a retail park in between!
It seems happy enough at present and I plan on just leaving it but if anyones got any recommendations I'd be interested, Thanks. |

It may be worth getting advice from a local wildlife rescue, who may suggest they lift the nest as it is and take the female as well in the hope that they can get her to settle in a rescue pen in safety until her ducklings hatch. Then they could all be released together. Hope that helps.
