I'm reading with interest (and envy) that one or two WABBERS have sighted their first Swifts. Anyone else seen any yet?
( I can't wait for mine).

Yeterday one over at Raynes Park, SW London, an Alpine Swift a few days ago at Rainham.
2 at Portland Bill Ob on Sunday
1 at Willows Farm in Surrey.

Yes, good numbers of Swift over Penrith in glorious sunshine yesterday.
p.s. our village is 35 miles south of Penrith and hosts nesting Swift annually. I haven't seen any here yet but will divert my eyes from this machine periodically this morning.

Ours haven't arrived yet, but going off reports from Swift Conservation they are a few days earlier than last year. Did anyone keep any records of the date of their arrival last year that can confirm this?
So excited about their return. I'm getting a stiff neck! |

We have about 20/25 pairs regularly nesting in our village, (lots of old 'open-eaved' cottages, perfect for them).
But no sign of them yet. Still waiting for our swallows!

I haven't seen any yet either if that makes you feel better. I usually see my first in the last week of April if I'm lucky. |
