| | | Herring or lesser black back? on a very rare occasion I went out without my SLR camera today just carrying a canon powershot in my pocket, and caught this picture of a Gull, catching a Fish in the Shropshire union canal , Chester, not sure Herring or lesser black back.. but first time I witnessed seeing a Gull catching a live fish on a Canal.. |

It still looks like a graellsii race LB-b to me, but some of the fine details of the wing pattern could point towards Y-l (eg. the lack of a white mirror on primary 9, and the fairly broad trailing edge to the secondaries).
The mantle colour seems a little on the dark side for Y-l to me, but this can vary depending on the light and angle. |
