I didnt believe my eyes Was at pooter looked out of window and saw this bird.It landed on the bird table I grabbed the camera .Time I got to the back door it was on washing line.Had camera max zoom and just kept creeping forward.Please can someone identify it for me.Doubt they will be good enough for Gallery but I am thrilled.
Cropped and a bit of sharpening but not really done to carefully I just wanted to get them up      |

looks like a very pale sparrrowhawk, is it that pale or is that colour because of the picture? |

I agree with Gill CB, certainly looks like a Sparrowhawk although I have never seen such a pale coloured one before

I've never seen a Sparrowhawk like that- a leucistic bird- still it probably hasn't got to worry too much about predators! |

He /she is beautiful I hope he/she comes back and I can get a decent photo of him/her for the Gallery

What is leucistic | Leucism is a lack of pigment, so animals are paler/whiter than normal. A form of albinism, but this bird is obviously not a true albino which would be all white with pink eye. Melanin the dark pigment does confer strength to feathers, but this chap (or chappess) looks healthy enough! |
