A Cuckoo thread

Might not work this, but thought I would start a thread that we can all post on when we hear our first Cuckoo. Be good to see how and when they move up.

Heard my first cuckoo on Monday at wicken Fen.

Great idea, I am really hoping to hear one at all this year with all the doom and gloom about their decline.

Someone from birding Northants reported one at Summer Leys the other day.
I dont here them here not for a few years now and they are getting scarcer too..

Well I am right down south so not sure it works with your thread but I heard my first this Saturday at Brede Woods in Sussex.

I was outside my cabin on Saturday and thought I heard one.
It was my bleedin' bird clock in the kitchen striking 2 o'clock! Doh!

First cucko was reported monday(11th) locally at Pitsea...am hoping to hear a cuckoo or two over the weekend when out over the local country park.They have bred successfully there,indeed I managed to get this shot a few years ago of a juvenile..

So far I have not heard the Cuckoo here in Cornwall (maybe I'm just getting a little deaf in my old age )ellen congratulations on your photo the cookoo it's a real beauty.

A few have been seen/heard according to the reports that I read.

Croxley Common Moor, Stockers Lake, Tyttenhanger, Cheshunt and even Regent's Park* to name a few. Still listening for mine.

*Is there a bird that does not pass over Regent's Park or one that Tony Duckett does not spot?
