The left bird is almost certainly the male(judging by these photos). Although I would need better photo's to say for sure. The differences are often subtle and require a good look at colour and darkness/spotting of the underwing, flanks and breast. In the hand the the flange on the 1st talon can also be used. |

hi woodman as a general rule females have spots on and to the side of the brest cant tell from your pics but thats how sex my barnys

I'll never fail to be amazed at the knowledge some people have on WAB. I honestly didn't know how to sex a Barn Owl.
