| | | The Cuckoo - BBC Radio 4 I've just missed this programme, but it's going to be re-broadcast at 9pm on Thursday (7th April '11). Here's the link: BBC - BBC Radio 4 Programmes - The Cuckoo
I'll try to capture it on Thursday for those that miss it.

| | | Re: The Cuckoo - BBC Radio 4 Thanks for that information and looking forward to hearing it. I thought I heard a Cuckoo couple of times few days past but now realising it was probably a Collared Dove very loudly defending his territory around here as Spring. I am used to the sound of them cooing at a distance in the woods and not the really loud carryon very early some mornings at the minute which confused me as the singing sounds different when so very close. |

| | | Re: The Cuckoo - BBC Radio 4 Did it deal with why cuckoos parasitise nests of some species of birds but not others? And how do they know which are which? Used to puzzle me as a lad ... |

| | | Re: The Cuckoo - BBC Radio 4 Thanks for the link Jim I'll have a listen later or tomorrow.
There was a document on a couple of years back on Cuckoos. I think it was part of the Natural World series, but it was really excellent I thought. Hopefully they'll repeat it again soon!
