Saturday 2nd april a flock of Waxwings seen in huntingdon, Cambs.

Great birds. The numbers are diminishing rapidly now though there were still some in the London area over the weekend.

Aw I love waxwings! I remember when I was young seeing a bunch in a small bush on my way to school once, so pretty.

I was lucky enough to see my first ever waxwings this winter - beautiful looking birds.

I saw a docu that said they were recovering in certain areas and can often be seen near the big sheds (B & Q,supermarkets etc) because of how they landscape their sites using shrubs that need little attention and that produce berries and things the Waxwings like

There was a large flock in my front garden yesterday.

They are undertaking their migration back home to breed and that is why their numbers here are diminishing.

Just seen a group of 20 waxwings feeding on sycamore buds, Ashington Northumberland April 9th

I saw some on April 1st ... and there are still around 25+ being reported near Poole in Dorset

I thought they would have all gone by now?
