| | | Re: Brambling still here Depends where they go to. They apparently breed in Surrey. Certainly seen stunning males in Surrey's wooded heaths in summer.
Cheers,

Cheers,
Adam | I'm surprised at this. There's certainly not a single breeding record in the fairly recent Birds of Surrey, but anything's possible. Maybe you're seeing the odd oversummering bird?- which would be a treat to see. |

| | | Re: Brambling still here Yes as mentioned it could be as late as April before they go, still the odd bird around here. Plenty of fieldfare and redwing still too. Last year I had a snow bunting in May so some birds dont seem to be in a rush. |

| | | Re: Brambling still here I have two lovely male Bramblings daily since the bad snow, in fact one male beauty hardly ever leaves my Hawthorns and Ash tree. I know I have two for certain as one has total black circles around his eyes and the other hasnt but still definitely male. The stunning dark eyed one is always the first at the ground feeder when I top up the seeds. He was so unruly in the beginning pushing everyone else away from the food but settled with the other birds but he never stops moving so hard to get a photo. I have not seen much of the two females since the snow until the other day when I saw one of them again. I saw one male last summer once and got a bad photo of him so I am very curious to see will they disappear soon. I will miss them as such beautiful birds. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
