| | | Re: Short eared owls this afternoon These shots were taken at Aust Warth coastal road between the 2 severn bridges in south gloucestershire.They will be here for a few more weeks before leaving for there nesting grounds.Yes they do have long wings littlesparrow and are lovely to watch in flight.They have been very regular at about 4pm lately for anyone wishing to see them. |

We still have at least one on the Isle of Sheppey still. I go across every fine afternoon to see and photo it. He was a bit late starting to hunt his patch today, (he's normally a 4pm starter too), and hunted quite a long way from where I was with another guy. We moved along a public footpath and on his second full circuit he came a bit closer. Late by then, so a rather grainy photo.
Interesting you think yours will stay a few more weeks. The local feeling on Sheppey is that ours will be gone any day now.
