| | | Pheasant help please I do feel embarrassed keep asking for help, but i always seem to catch the birds i cannot find in books.
I know this is a Pheasant but not what kind?
In my book the only Black Pheasant is a Mikado Pheasant, which is native to Taiwan.
Sorry my picture is not too focused.
Thanks in advance for any corespondance. |

| | | Re: Pheasant help please It's a relatively common colour form of an ordinary pheasant. I believe some shoots select for them, though they'll turn up from time to time anyway. A shoot near where I grew up also had a few White pheasants most years too.

| | | Re: Pheasant help please We have two local shoots near hear - both turn out these and white ones. Think it make them easier targets for doddery old guys whose sight is not what it used to be!! |

I can never understand the "sport" in this as they are such easy targets even I couldn't fail to miss if I was that way inclined.. |

all the best Steve | When my dog flushes them and she does regular they fly low and slow and look like easy targets but as I have never held a gun I will take your word for it..
They just look big and cumbersome not agile like a pigeon.. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
