Cauliflower Ear?

My little female Blackcap seems to have a strange growth on her right ear, does this look normal (i.e a trick of the light) or something more sinister?

There is a disease around called avian pox which quite often appears on the birds face, from pictures it appears redder than your little bird so i hope it isn't as it doesn't seem to have a good outcome.

Are you sure its not how its holding its head? looks like its actual ear.
