Bird song id - help please

Hello, this morning I woke up at dawn to hear a bird singing - and one I don't think I've heard before. I heard it again this evening at dusk. It's driving me crazy trying to identify it. I've tried listening to lots of youtube videos of different common birds and I still can't place it.
It's really beautiful and sounds an awful lot like a blackbird singing, melodic and flute-like, but there's a very distinctive bit that sounds like "video video" said fast. The whole song is fairly low and melancholy.

Sorry if that sounds daft. Does this ring any bells with anyone?

There's also sound clips on the RSPB website, under the "Birds by Name" section, each entry has a "listen" facility top left of the species details.

Er - yes! There is no link to the song the OP heard - some of us just made suggestions based on her description plus a link to a website where she could listen to examples of the songs of the birds suggested as possibles.
