| | | Shetland, a Diffcult Question I am going to Shetland in a couple of weeks time on business and will have appox. 6 hours of free time.
Can anyone suggest a good birdwatching area between Lerwick and Sumburgh? - I shall be hiring a car.
Thanks, D. |

| | | Re: Shetland, a Diffcult Question The RSPB reserve at Sumburgh head would probably be your best bet. You could walk along the coastal path from the Sumburgh hotel.
And look at for seals from the Tesco car park in Lerwick.

| | | Re: Shetland, a Diffcult Question As well as Sumburgh lighthouse, take a drive by Boddam, a bay about 4 miles north of Sumburgh. It's the side road that goes east of the Mainlands shop, down past Dunrossness primary school. You can park up at several spots and view from the car.. Purple Sandpiper and various other waders and divers, several duck species, very good chance of Otters and Seals.
Will give you a wave from the house if we see you :-)

John | Quite a coincidence - If I take a taxi from the airport to Lerwick, I use Boddam Cabs
Thanks for the info. |
