Birds in Alexandra Palace Park
My BF and I went on an outing to Alexandra Palace park in North London last week, and fortunately he happened to have his camera with him. He managed to get some decent photos of this green woodpecker- I hadn't ever seen one before.


We had taken some peanuts for the squirrels, but tempted this magpie down with them... he was so desperate to stuff as many as possible in his beak at one go that I didn't think he'd be able to manage it, but he did!
He wasn't swallowing them, just holding the nuts in his beak and he kept dropping them... I think he got five or six in the end, before struggling to fly off with his loot.
