Went for a walk to a local common by me with a mature mixed woodland as well looking for tree creepers which I found  but could not take a photo of as the don’t stay still  saw a few different birds on my 2 hour walk on retuning to the car park there is an old tree stump right by where I had parked my car it has to be 3 foot across it had a load of seed on it I then spent a further 2 hours watching the birds going for the seed I had spent t 2 hours looking for birds and I could have stayed in my car  on this make shift bird table I saw nuthatches tits as follows great ,blue coal , long tail and not sure which one coal/marsh ? Chaffinch, green finch, dunnock, robin, and greater spotted woodpecker in a tree opposite in the local area jays, carrion crow woodpigeon should have just stayed in the car as most of these birds were only 4 foot from my car  |

Isn't that often the way though? On a trip to Orkney a couple of years ago, I spent hours looking for hen harriers on one of the RSPB reserves and was rewarded by good views of a female across the valley. Back in the car park, just about to set off, a beautiful male drifted by just a few feet away!

Same happened t me at college lake... had a nice few hours walking round... go in the car and then bam .. a sparrowhawk flew by and landed on a fence post .. i had to stop and take a few pics.....
