| | | Hawk Conservancy Trust Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let you know about a recent trip I had to the Hawk Conservancy Trust near Andover. It took just over an hour to get there for me... it is well worth the money and the time to get there.
They have birds of prey from all over the world and the UK, also great bustards and a couple of secretary birds. Also, wild red kites come in sometimes and join in the flying displays. I got the chance to hold 3 different owls and have a harris hawk fly to my hand.
Great for practicing in flight photography of birds of prey, ready for when you get the opportunity in the wild
Was definately a treat to go there, and I would recomend it to anyone

| | | Re: Hawk Conservancy Trust We lived in Andover for 18 months and had 3 or 4 visits, a great day out and the flying displays are fantastic.
I will second Bekki, definately worth a visit, a complete day out

| | | Re: Hawk Conservancy Trust Yes. Been there several times over the years and, as you say, great for photography. I just like standing there with an owl or hawk on my hand. Last time they had a Secretary Bird out chasing after a dragged rubber snake, which it 'killed' by stamping on it.
Cheers,

| | | Re: Hawk Conservancy Trust Hi
I went there with family and friends last year and ended up staying there for 6 hours. What a fantastic place to see these birds close up and have to agree one of the best places to practice flight shots. As well as all the captive birds we did see 'wild' red kites, kestrel and sparrowhawk.
Can't wait to get back there this year
regards
