| | | Re: Avocets Tyttenhanger seems to be getting a few good birds there at the moment, what with Tree Sparrows, Yellowhammers and the Ruddy Shelduck recently. I might have to make my debut visit there soon!

Missed the Avocets and most of the waders, but there was a Shelduck, Buzzard, lots of Yellowhammers in a mixed flock of goodies and the Waxwings waited till we got there and were totally showing off.

With avocets its sort of 'well I can see its a black and white bird oh and there's a shelduck and i can see that's a shelduck because there's some chesnut colour too and its not one of those its nowhere near the same size. soooooo too much white for an oystercatcher oh good then I'm looking at an avocet! brilliant!'
