| | | Book Recommendation Evening All,
I am at the moment reading the RSPB British Birds Of Prey book which is fantastic but what I was wondering is could anyone recommend something similar for British corvids?
I hope this is in the right section.
Thanks |

| | | Re: Book Recommendation I can't think of a comparable book on British corvirds, Mark Cocker's Crow Country was much lauded by the birding press + Derek Ratcliff's " the Raven" is a fine monograph on this species. |

| | | Re: Book Recommendation One of the best books in my own library on the subject of corvids is: The Crows; A Study of the Corvids of Europe - by C J Franklin Coombs
It dates from 1978, so long out of print, but a quick search shows that you can still acquire second-hand copies at very reasonable cost. Amazon.co.uk: Used and New: Crows: A Study of the Corvids of Europe
It is particularly good at describing the postures and vocalizations of corvids ... I'd recommend it to anyone with a genuine interest in the crow family. |

Yes crow country is fantastic. Though I haven't read the other book.
If you are particularly interested in corvid behaviour then I recommend
'mind of the raven:....' by Bernard Heinrich (2007)which was fanscinating and I think I read it cover to cover in two sittings..
