How do i go about finding out exactly where this bird was last seen and is it likely to hang around the same area that it was seen this morning? Hope you can help, ty |

| | | Re: Great Grey Shrike in Borders Ah right just found on BirdGuides: Great Grey Shrike (Lanius excubitor)
It was seen at Wauchope Forest this morning.
Shrikes round here have usually stayed around for a while, the Great Grey in Thursley, Surrey stayed for a long while last year, as did others dotted around Surrey area. If there's enough food, it'll stick around.

One turned up at Worlds End in Wales this morning so, as I'm heading there on Saturday, I may see one too this week
Cheers

| | | Re: Great Grey Shrike in Borders According to Birdguides the Borders report refers to yesterday (March 2nd), and the shrike was in a clear fell area c.NT635037 |

| | | Re: Great Grey Shrike in Borders We have a small wintering population within the plantations on the North York moors. We get several birds every year (for the last 5 years at least). Always a good place to check although quite vast, a good bet. |

| | | Re: Great Grey Shrike in Borders One of the birds I've always wanted to see. There is one possibly two close to me here in West Stirlingshire at the moment but I haven't seen them yet. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
