Kestrel
Yesterday evening we took in an injured male kestrel. He'd flown into a wire and had been concussed. He stayed with us overnight and looked first class this morning.... kicking off whenever we went anywhere near his cage. Apart from 2 missing primary feathers on his left wing, he seemed fine. We released him in our top meadow, and it was a wonderful feeeling to see him flying free for 200 yards before landing on a dry stone wall for a quick sortie, and then off again over the valley.
Life doesn't get much better than this. Just had to share.
