It has to be a Snow Bunting, it's the first time I'd ever seen one, it made my day 
It was at Greatstone beach, Kent, not too far from the RSPB reserve at Dungeness.

Has to be kestrel today. Neil and I saw at least eight on our trip to Donna Nook but the best view was shortly after setting off for home. I saw one fly up into a try above the road ahead and, with nothing behind me, I slowed right down and got great views as we drove underneath. It took off again and flew ahead of the car for a hundred yards or so before settling in another tree. At which point we left it in peace and drove on.
Didn't see a buzzard all day so it's 8-0 to the kestrels, the highest margin yet.

Would have gone with the kestrel dave mentioned but the Gull eating the dead seal pups eye (whole!) wins for demonstrating the sheer raw gross-ness of nature! |

This was really yesterday, i saw about ten goldfinches eating thistle seeds out in the fields, a bit more cold and I might get them in the garden. Wonderful to see so many together at once.
