For Saturday it was the Starlings off Brighton's piers. 
Today it was the return of the Waxwings to World's End Hill, here in Bracknell, just a couple of mins from my house!
16 of them, got pics that I post in the waxwing watch thread!

Went up Richmond Park this morning to do a November wildfowl count after being away.
In some alders was a group of 15 Siskins- always a delight. In Pen Pond Plantation I found a group of at least 20 Lesser Redpolls feeding in birches.
A Snipe flushed from the lake edge + 5 Red-crested Pochards were a fine sight- both swimming + when in flight. |

My bird of the day is not rare where I live at all, I see one most days, but today one landed on my feeder for the first time that I know of.....Great Spotted Woodpecker, a male, fantastic! |

Male Blackcap feeding on the elderberries in my back 'garden' (a small forest developing on top of old sofas & abandoned fridges  ).
I'm not used to seeing Blackcaps in winter - maybe more an East than West coast thing in Scotland??
The berries are right next to my window, and he came so close that I could see every feather on his wee cap |

Absolutely blown away today by spotting a Red Kite not 100 metres from my home in Swansea. It was being mobbed by Gulls and various Corvids, but it still put on an amazing display. It stooped 4 times in the space of 20 minutes!
Not had chance to check my photos ye, but only a little point and shoot so they are liable to be rubbish. | | | |
