My bird or should I say birds are Mr and Mrs Pheasant who wandered into view whilst I was looking across a field at some sheep.
Also my friendly wood pigeon who enjoyed black sunflowers from my bird feeder. | Barbara- looks as though they've just had a tiff + not speaking to each other! Lovely photo! |

March 30th is difficult as amongst the many photos I took, three of the species were a bit special so I have included all three.
Waxwing near Holkham, Norfolk.
Green-winged Teal at Titchwell.
Red-breasted Goose at Snettisham. It might not be a good image but I was pleased with this one as it was me that re-located these birds after they had disappeared for over two days from a field near Kings Lynn.
Today (march 31st) is no contest. A bit of a special bird for me in Britain came up onto the pager. It was a Red-rumped Swallow. I was currently leaving Heacham to go to Weeting Heath for the Stone Curlew. I decided to still go for the Stone Curlew and thankfully found one, albeit far too distant for photography. I was quickly on my way to Brogborough (which actually wasn't that far off my route) and once on site quickly saw the bird. Unfortunately the bird was continually flying high but eventually dropped a bit lower and I managed three record shots, one of which is below.
Well that's covered my three days off.
John | Good stuff John- some excellent birds, I particularly love that alert Waxwing photo + the Purple Sandpiper. Some cracking birds there! |
