Thursday's bird of the day has to be the Purple Sandpiper I photographed at Ness Point, Lowestoft. I have never got a decent shot of one digiscoping but using the DSLR system really does help you get that shot.
Yesterdays bird of the day was a toss up between a Red-breasted Goose I captured at Snettisham or the Green-winged Teal at Titchwell, or the Waxwings at Holkham. I may post images from all three as I can't decide.
Todays bird of the day is no contest. A beautiful Red-rumped Swallow in Bedfordshire.
I haven't had chance to upload any images just yet as I am still busy editing the loads of photos I have taken but as soon as I have done that I will add the photos to this thread.

John | Sounds like a good few days John. Though I've seen plenty of Red-rumped Swallows abroad, I've only seen one in England, even though several turn up most years- great bird to see. Did you get that before Barn Swallow on your year list? |

Here's my favourite:

| | | Re: Bird of the day! I have some catching up to do as well, great chiffchaff images Graham and you Great Crested Grebes are superb.
My bird or should I say birds are Mr and Mrs Pheasant who wandered into view whilst I was looking across a field at some sheep.
Also my friendly wood pigeon who enjoyed black sunflowers from my bird feeder. |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! I mentioned earlier that I had to catch up on this thread as I have been away for three days so here are my birds over that period.
March 29th. A Purple Sandpiper from Ness Point, Lowestoft.
March 30th is difficult as amongst the many photos I took, three of the species were a bit special so I have included all three.
Waxwing near Holkham, Norfolk.
Green-winged Teal at Titchwell.
Red-breasted Goose at Snettisham. It might not be a good image but I was pleased with this one as it was me that re-located these birds after they had disappeared for over two days from a field near Kings Lynn.
Today (march 31st) is no contest. A bit of a special bird for me in Britain came up onto the pager. It was a Red-rumped Swallow. I was currently leaving Heacham to go to Weeting Heath for the Stone Curlew. I decided to still go for the Stone Curlew and thankfully found one, albeit far too distant for photography. I was quickly on my way to Brogborough (which actually wasn't that far off my route) and once on site quickly saw the bird. Unfortunately the bird was continually flying high but eventually dropped a bit lower and I managed three record shots, one of which is below.
Well that's covered my three days off.

And number 3 were lapwings which are a first. I had a grey heron and mute swan posing for the camera. The other thing is i may have seen a honey buzzard but i am not sure.
