Plenty more were to follow! It's rare you actually get what you set out for, and so quickly. |
That's brilliant Graham and what a cracking shot. Yes I can imagine how good it feels to be able to photograph what you set out to try and capture. The odd time before I go out into my hide I think it would be nice to see a new bird visiting and on the odd times it does it makes my day.
Thankyou Guy a few of the birds visiting my garden are rung. |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Beautiful photo Beryl a lovely pose.I beat my 4 buzzards I saw yesterdy at Bowling Green Marsh today I saw 6 near the white bridge on the River Otter.Again to high for a shot.I then carried on walking along the Otter from Budleigh to Otterton and on the way I spotted a Kingfisher. It flew up from the river into the trees. So quick but a fantastic bright blue flash.Five minutes later it flew up the river almost skimming the water.I kept an eye on the river all along the walk, nearly stepped in cow pats on the way through not looking where i put my feet.Of course I was hoping to see it somewhere along the way sitting on a branch long enough for a photo but no such luck.Stopped at Otter Mill for a cuppa then made my way back to Budleigh again hoping to see it.Well I did skimming along up river past me like a rocket.Oh well one day I might get a photo So this was my bird of the day.The Beautiful fast Kingfisher |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! My bird of today is a Wren. Saw one this morning, and although there is nothing rare or unusual about them, it always gives me great pleasure to get a good view of these beautiful little birds. I loved seeing the Wren shot posted on this thread by Graham a few days ago!
In Bulgaria, where I spend a lot of my time guiding nature groups, the common name for a Wren is "Orehche" which literally translates as "Little Walnut"! A perfect description I always think! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
