| | | Re: Bird of the day! Several feathered friends have returned to the feeding sites in our garden after a long absence!! favourite yums seem to be a new try-out : Bill Oddie's High Energy Insect Suet Pellets.
But my bird of the day is a lone Greater Spotted Woodpecker , spotted pecking in the walnut tree! lovely - my first, although the Green ones (or Yaffles) are very familiar here. |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Hi
My bird of the day would be this Great Spotted Woodpecker,
This was at Sculthorpe Moor near Fakenham. I finally got a resonable picture instead of a blob in the distance. Seconds later a Sparrowhawk came through and nearly got him!

| | | Re: Bird of the day! I happened to look out of my bedroom window today and our pair of Ravens were frolicking in the air. They seemed really happy that the weather had improved and they were able to get out and stretch their wings.
I'm still being amused by the wagtail that sits at the back door, too. I'm going to ask him if he wants to come in for a cuppa if he keeps this up much longer!

| | | Re: Bird of the day! tawny owl calling from a tree outside my mates house last night, listened to it for a while, before it flew across the street, casting a sillhouette in the streetlight, grand! |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Fieldfares make fickle friends - they've all scuttled off now after everything I gave them (baked potatoes to!!) .
I do however have a few faithful Bluetits and a the male Black Cap is still enjoying the food we're putting out.
