Bird of the day!

My bird of the day is also the Red Kite. We walked the footpaths & byways around Russell's Water & Maidengrove and into Warburg NR this afternoon and there were so many. At one time we counted 12 flying in what seemed to be formation over towards Stonor. One also took off from a tree about 50ft from us - no photo, it took us by surprise

Today star birds in Hastings CP was a cronking Raven over our heads + 6 Wheatears feeding in a field.

A nice surprise today was a couple of passage Redstarts at Ruislip Woods.

My BotD from yesterday were four jackdaws flying overhead in Merton. Lovely birds, I love the 'Chack-chack' call

A small flock of long-tailed tit on my apple tree! I was sat in the lounge and heard them, they were so noisy

"My" robin is back! having a bath just outside and looking very smart in his new plumage.

The sound of a Chiffchaff in my garden is my bird of the day.

And yesterday it was the sight of two very large Nuthatches creeping down and eating something from the bark of a tree in my garden!

Saw some long-tailed tits over the weekend. First time I've ever seen them around here. Apparently there are buzzards also, but I'm still on the lookout.
