Bird of the day!

My bird of the day is this Tawny Owl I spotted at an old disused church , sorry for the dodgy pic.

My Bird of the day is not one, but two thrushes singing their heads off for at least a solid hour as if it were a competition! One was in my garden and one two gardens away.

Mine was a Jay in the local reserve, followed by a wren, jackdaws and song thrush

A wren which has built a nest in the small shed on our allotment. We ducked in there yesterday to avoid a sharp shower of rain and spotted a parent just flying in with a mouthful of food.

Needless to say we ducked out again quickly and got wet

My bird of the day from yesterday were the avocets i saw at my local nature reserve complete with chicks

Highlights from the New Forest today were a pair of Hobby's flying around their nest site, quite a few Crossbills, Dartford Warbler, Wood Warblers, Redstarts, Firecrest & this Tawny Owlet....

Bird of the day for me is a Green Woodpecker, first one I have seen around here in 3 years, another one to add to the list of species which stands at 30 something now.
