Had to use photo taken from the van, as they all spooked when I tried to get closer. |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Went to a Hawfinch roost site on the New Forest this afternoon. About 35 to 40 birds came in.
Also a Blackbird was singing quietly when i got back home. |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! OK ~ this may be a bit of a cheat because my "bird of the day" is from about 2 weeks ago . . . and although there's only one bird in this first photo, there were between 300 -- 400 of them all trying to feed in a couple of White Rowans.
Here's the photo >
. . . and here's just a small group assembled in a tree >  < maybe there should be a prize for the person who can do an accurate count of the Waxwings in this pic! (I gave up when I got to around 70 ~ and there were another 3 trees that looked like this!)
For the past 6 or 7 weeks they have been reported day and daily in Edinburgh and the Lothians |
