| | | Re: Bird of the day! Bird of the day is one that is not native to this country. For the last 6 months or so there have been sitings of this bird and it has been seen taking rabbits with ease.
This morning-in thick fog- I was walking through the local country park when I happened to look at one of the old oaks-couldnt believe it,even through the murk I knew at once I was looking at a Harris hawk.Managed to get some photos too!

ellen | I hope his owner gets him back pronto!
We had a medium-sized flock of long tailed tits turn up this morning. They were all over the picnic table and our small 'kitchen bay' which is very close to the porch. They didn't move until my Mum was quite close to them - cheeky blighters!

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Today I've had a beautiful male Redstart in the garden for the afternoon. He's not quite in full breeding plumage but very colourful nonetheless. It's the first time I've seen one in the garden and it's certainly brightened up a dull, windy day.

| | Re: Bird of the day! My bird of the day was a Mute Swan that i had to rescue from a busy road near my office. But i was a bit miffed at the couldn't care less drivers who just wouldn't let me cross with it once i had picked it up.
