| | | Re: Bird of the day! I've just been down the garden - and seen a bird I never thought I'd see there, a kingfisher! It swooped into the garden from the stream at the bottom and perched briefly on a branch that overhangs the pond. Didn't manage to photograph it - light too poor - but I'm thrilled to see one here! |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Was driving with a friend through the Pevensey Marshes today and a purple heron flew over the road and landed in the reed beds!!! Unmistakable and my friend not being into birds couldn't work out why I was so excited - so I tried to explain to her but... Seen them a few times in the past around there |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! This little beauty arrived yesterday under my bedroom window at 07:45am. Today I got home just after 17:30 and went in the bedroom to change out of my work clothes. I decided to look out of the window and there was the Brambling again.
Unfortunately at that time of day the light was fading fast, plus it was taken through a window and at an angle. Also the curtain was throwing a reflection across the window, all of which was not conducive to good photography.
Thankfully it was still there when I grabbed my camera from the living room and I managed a few shots before it flew off.
