| | | Re: Bird of the day! My birds of the day were a group of Mallards (hybrids with blue bills) that swam around a pond in a row. No matter what happended they kept paddling about in a single line. Even if they were interrupted by swans, geese or other ducks they reformed and continued on their journey.
I could see the point if the first duck in the line was a female but as far as I could they where all males. To me it looked like a pointless exercise but maybe there was some purpose behind it for them.
The photograph was taken at Cannop Ponds, Forest of Dean Monday 11th February.

These little darlings came to my bird table today..I have been waiting with the camera for ages then two came together  ..They keep going into the robin nest box..I'm all exited..  fingers and toes crossed they have little ones, can't wait.. |
