If they are all still down there in two weeks time I may come down to find them.
This Saturday I am off to France, hoping to catch a sight of the Wallcreeper that has found its way to the side of Bolougne.
John | That sounds exciting John. I do hope you get to see it. Hope the weather in France is better that here for you.
Have a good trip

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Dave and John,
I'ld like to thank you for spotting my deliberate mistake so quickly and pointing it out. However, haveing seen a yellow looking wagtail i just assumed it would be a yellow wagtail. How strange to have two yellow types and one being called grey. I had a look in the Gallery and now know that a real yellow wagtail also has a yellow head.
I will be more careful next time and check before posting. I've leant something new today.
Thanks guys
BWD

We get the male great spotted every day, but like you the female has been appearing too, lovely to see though. My bird of today is a cheeky robin on the back of a chair at Carsington Water

| | | Re: Bird of the day! That must have been amazing, james! Lucky you! I've had some close sightings of Barn Owls (but not that close!) but I've never been near to a Tawny Owl (though I sometimes hear one in the sycamore tree in the front garden).
On another note, I had Brambling as my 'Bird of the day' about two weeks ago. Since they first appeared in my parents' garden, I've seen them another four or five times. |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Although I have loads of feeders andgood selection of food the only regular visitars are House Sparrows, Starling, Blackbird. Anyway, I just came home from the dentist, extraction and cap fitted so I am in pain sat down in front of my computer looking out to the garden and I see a bird, realized what it was and run upstairs to get a photo out of the bedroom window.
Two Siskin feeding. A very nice suprise.
