My highlight were 6 Goosander at Sandwell (4 male, 2 female). A new one for me. | Well done Goatboy! I think Goosander's are lovely birds, I still remember my excitement when I first saw one, a drake on a reservoir near Ipswich. I've certainly never seen 6 in one place - not seen many more than that in total, come to think of it! |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! No contest today having caught up with the Mega rare White-crowned Sparrow that has made its way from America to a garden in Cley, Norfolk.
Unfortunately the bird was in excess off 100+ feet away from me so getting a good image with my 100-400 lens was a non starter but I have added the best two of a bad lot of images.

Were you shooting in RAW? If so I'd be tempted to tweak the colour balance to warm it up a little as I'm seeing a slight blue cast on the white patches on his wings. Mind you my monitor is not callibrated so it might just be me. Either way it's still a fabulous shot - thanks for posting it!

BTW, Badgerwatcher, see you got the buckles undone OK | Hi
I am getting goldfinches on my feeders in the back garden here in Reading, & I'm getting six at a time, they seem to like the sunflower hearts the bestof all.
