This is a wonderful photo of one of the most difficult birds to capture.
You will do well to better it, but I guess that is the challenge.

| | | Re: Bird of the day! For me my Bird Of the Day has to be this Grey Wagtail.
I was helping in-laws in North Wales putting up an awning on their caravan. At the first opportunity I escaped with my camera. I walked up the road towards the village. I just happened to look left and saw this wagtail bobbing about in a small stream. There was nothing to lean on, so it took it hand held and hoped for the best. I tried to get a bit closer, but he saw me and flew away. I am happy with it because it is the nearest I have ever got to a wagtail. |

What brilliant photos, and great poses too. It's not just the shot, it's the moment as well. Great nuthatch poised, Beryl, and fabulous wagtail, Barbara, and darling chaffinch, philbyuk, and as for you, Graham, what more do you want from a treecreeper? There's only so much a treecreeper can give, you know! It's amazing. I've never even seen a treecreeper in that much detail before.

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Well my bird of the day today has to be this Pied Wagtail for being brave enough to venture out in this weather. It looks like he/she was about to take off, but in fact it was bracing itself against the very strong wind as it was in danger of being blown off the outhouse roof it was on. He/she managed to stay on the roof long enough for me to get quite a few photos.

| | | Re: Bird of the day! My bird of the day was the Chiffchaff flitting in the bushes in my garden as I peeked behind the curtains (the other half likes her lie-in + I'm up to do last WeBS counts of the winter).
Only about the third I've seen in the garden so a pleasant surprise. Heard another bird singing during my counts-I'm hoping we're not going to get much snow here in next few days. |

My bird of the day has to be this Goldfinch. Eleven visited today all at once. I lost count of the number of times they returned. They were battling against the strong wind poor things. They were squabbling a lot, even feeding from the fat log. This one made me laugh though with his feather out of place. |

Roger | Thanks Roger, I have lost count of the amount of hailstone showers we have had and each time followed by sunshine. I have never seen hailstones so big |
