Barbara | Lovely shot Barbara. It's great to get them when they're in full song. Well done! |

The added space gives room for the song.
Very, very envious. Have had one in the garden for ages, and still no shot as good as this.
congratulations

| | | Re: Bird of the day! I put up a multiple fat ball and peanut feeder yesterday in a young cherry tree near the back hedge. My wife had bought it from a supermarket to cheer me up as I've been under the weather lately. So I put it out more in hope than anything else.
This morning the sparrows were already brave enough to try it. Then at lunchtime a lage brown shape glided over the garden and perched on the branch directly above the new feeder. Yes, a sparrowhawk. Stayed for about 2 mins, then off over a wall and away. Stunning.

| | | Re: Bird of the day! After a manic Saturday, where we did 750 miles, I managed some photos of two absolute mega rare birds.
The Barrow's Goldeneye is only the third one to visit Britain and the Pacific Diver is a first for Europe. Allthough the images are not brilliant I thought them worth posting in this thread because they certainly were birds of the day.

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Wow, John! Those are amazing. I was just pleased to see the Goldeneye at Slimbridge, never imagining that there was ever a chance to see one in the wild.
And what a beautiful diver!
A wonderful wren shot, Barbara, and fabulous Dartford warbler and goldcrest, Guy, two birds I've never even had a really close look at.

davew | Thanks Dave, I know what you mean but I was just being greedy
This little one visits regularly now a few times a day, and it comes right to the hide only my camera can't capture it because I can't get the angle when the camera is on the hide clamp.
