| | | Re: Bird of the day! I have been very lucky over the last week or so.
Today, I thought that I had another first. We (my controller and I) went for a local walk this afternoon. I spotted a small woodpecker and eventually managed to get a keeper snap. I wondered if it might be a lesser spotted woodpecker. When I got home, I had a closer look at my leisure. It turned out to be a Great Spotted Woodpecker a long way off. Never mind, next time....
Mustn't grumble

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Went for a wander up the New Forest this morning. Saw some Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers, Brambling, Crossbills, Siskins among others, but the highlight were some Hawfinches with a male singing then feeding the female. |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! Bird of the day for me has to be this gorgeous little Wren
He/she flew high into a conifer in front of me and sang it's little heart out. I thought at first it was the goldcrest because it looked such a different colour when the sun was shining on it.

You are right, I heard it before I saw it, but managed to get good views as well as a photo of sorts! |

| | | Re: Bird of the day! My favourite today has to be a male Darford Warbler that came and posed beatifully for me at Arne.
Also loads of Goldcrests in the gorse were great support
And 8 Spoonbills weren't bad either!
Also, my Goldcrest living in the Willow tree in the garden was joined by another today

| | Re: Bird of the day! My bird of the day has to be the Marsh Tit seen feeding on a table along with Blue, Great and Coal Tits, it really helps with identification when there are others to compare with. Had a great few hours out at Coombe Abbey on Saturday. |

You're advice really helped, and it was nice having some birds that weren't camera shy for once
