| | | Siskin First time I've spotted one of these on my feeders. Do occasionally see them in the local woods, but seems there's a small flock mixing with the local Goldfinches at the moment. Hope they hang around for a while there such little beauties..

| | | Re: Siskin Great little guys eh? I remember being so excited seeing 2 of them when I was used to starlings and sparrows. Since switching to feeders with only a mix of sunflower hearts, kibbled peanuts and nijer seed I get flocks of up to 50 in my garden at one time. Apart from the starlings they are the most bold birds too. |

| | | Re: Siskin I'm getting 8 - 10 coming daily to my garden now. They are using every feeder, nyjer, sunflower hearts, no mess mix, peanuts, the budgie tonic I put out for the House Sparrows, and they are even feeding on the ground . When the Siskins and Goldfinch (8) come at the same time, there's a lot of squabling over the nyjer, but both the Siskins and Goldies are using every feeder when they can't get to the nyjer. Only exception is that the Goldies don't really eat the peanuts, although I saw 2 try the peanut feeder on Sunday.
I've also got lots of Blue, Coal and Great Tits flying back and forward all day to the peanuts, sunflower hearts, no mess mix and budgie tonic . |
