Bird Spikes

I want to place some pigeon spikes on top of my garden fence which starts at six foot high to eight foot, I worried that these spikes may harm my neighbours cat, I've not seen a cat in my garden, but you never know.

So, would a cat jump up onto the fence with spikes and injure its self?

funny question to be asking , as its a bird forum, and my answer is if you want to put them up, put them up, but why ? debates on cats get a little heated, and i think if the cat does come into contact with the spikes, it will be wary and stay clear, rossy.

Rossy, my funny question was placed in this forum as there was no other suitable forum, I'm open to suggestions.

The only birds I have issue with are the pigeons which sit on my fence and poop all down it. Birds use the fence to perch on before going to feed on my bird feeder and then back again, I have no issue with the garden birds, the spikes are designed to allow small birds the perch in between the spikes.

My only concern were my neighbours cats, and trying to find out if they can cause harm.

I've seen pigeons impaled on those around town so yes I would certainly think they would injure a cat though I think it would learn pretty quickly.
