Pest sprayer
After careful consideration I bought one of these to stop the neighbours cats sitting underneath my bird feeders and was pleasantly surprised, they work really well once set up correctly.

Jet Spray Repeller: Amazon.co.uk: Home & Garden

I only turn it on when the moggies are out there to avoid a personal drenching.

I'll be interested to see how this performs. The reviews of it are very mixed.
