cant see the shaggy mane and the bill looks like carrion crow to how close to the bird was you as a raven is a big big bird have you any more pictures as face on pic can be misleading 
im saying carrion crow  from that picture

It was about 40m away. This pic below was at 320mm. I was buzzard size I recon.

Buzzard size would fit with raven, but this looks like a carrion crow to me.

Long tail and wings with correspondingly small looking head makes it a crow! Shorter looking wings and tail to a larger heavier body and larger head and thicker neck - even without being able to see the throat feathers or heavy beak -makes a raven! So its a crow! |
