Goldcrest at Clumber Park.

Today we went to Clumber Park in the vain search of Hawfinches.
Although the Hawfinches didn't show, I had a fabulous display from a Goldcrest. I haven't seen one for ages then on two consecutive outings I get some decent shots. Here's some of the 200 odd shots I got of the bird.

Approximately 12ft when these were taken. In fact it came down to the ground at my feet at one point, and I mean at my feet! A real thrill for me, far too close for a shot.

Great stuff!
Ive only had 2 pose for me and once I didn't have my camera (awful light) the other was into the sun on the shady side of a hedge! Still the first instance I mentioned was my first sighting at work so not all bad!

A few more. I've still got loads to edit.















What this lot has proven to me yet again is how good the 7D is. So far I've only had about 5% of my shots out of focus. Normally with my other camera(s) it's the other way round!

Excellent shots.

I have these lovely little birds in the garden, but I very rarely see them. I can't imagine trying to get a picture of one.
