This morning a Thrush Sang

This morning I took myself off for a short walk, there are three Horsechesnut
trees in a little group and at the very top of the tallest sang a Thrush.
I noticed a man moving about under under the trees looking canopywise, I coughed and he looked a little sheepish and said " I was looking to see where that _MAGPIE_ was singing"
Ignorant but interested or up to something?

Reminds me of when I was a warden. An odd looking character was loitering in a wooded area close to where a courting couple were seated. I watched him for a while until I was convinced he was a peeping tom, at which point I moved towards him. When he saw me he looked very nervous but grinned as I asked him what he was up to. He had binoculars in his hand and held them up and said I am looking for a Bearded tit I have heard there is one around here. There had never been reports of Bearded tits on the site and I felt my hackles rise at the cheek of this man, because I had a beard and the reference was pretty clear.
