| | | Goshawks in North Herts/South Beds? Does anybody know if you can spot these elusive birds in the North Herts/South Beds area? I know they tend to be difficult to spot but do any live in these areas? |

It is amazing how you can have a pair of quite large hawks in a comparatively small wood (20-30 acres)yet only ever spot one if you are very lucky.
When the young are well grown and flying they will all soar above the wood as family especially on a sunny afternoon. On two occasions in localities 50 miles apart I have been privileged to see this. Yet I had regularly frequented the woods in question for most of the previous 8 months without suspecting the presence of Goshawks.

I suspect there aren't too many local to you but birds may turn up; there are occasional records each year around the London recording area, though haven't seen one there myself yet. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
