This morning I noticed an awful lot of activity on my lawn up here in Perthshire - there was a little flock of birds amongst the few chaffinches, goldfinches and siskins that looked different to me. I grabbed a camera and took a few shots though if my windows were alot cleaner I might have got a clearer shot. Would these be redpolls? Some of them seemed to have little burgundy caps on their heads and their breasts flushed with a paler burgundy aswell

I'm just not so sure about the 2nd photo after having a look at the RSPB website - it looks more like a linnet to me with the reddish breast. |

| | Re: Is this a Redpoll Yes I also looked at Linnets but looking closely at each I concluded your pictures matched the features of a Redpoll one main feature being that the birds in your pictures appear to have yellow beaks like the Redpoll and Linnets have a dark coloured beak
